You can edit your photos online, since there are so many websites for photo enhacment, and they are free. The best one is
1. Funnywow - http://www.funnywow.com
2. Top 20 websites for photo editing - http://www.squidoo.com/photofunia-style
Hope it can help.

If you wanna a free mac photo editor, i will introduce you The GIMP to try.
It’s free, and has the mas edition.
Compared with PS, this is really small, and no more professional skills are needed.
Gimp is a self contained appication bundle of the GNU Image Manipulation Program for Mac OS X. Gimp.app is droppable, uses the gimp-print package built into OS X, and uses the system’s default web browser for help and web browsing requests.
I hope you can try it first, whatever, it’s free, easy to download: http://mac.brothersoft.com/gimp.html?utm_source=answer&utm_medium=yuki&utm_campaign=Computers_Internet

I would say for actual editing and library functions, the built-in iPhoto is pretty good. It comes on every Mac for free.
Google makes a free image editor called Picasa.
